About

The Kitchen Table Dance Collective (KTDC) supports the artistic growth and development of Black Creatives. We educate our members through a series of workshops, retreats, lectures and courses. In our programs Black Creatives work in peer collaboration and mentorship to analyze the practice, process and performance aspects of their creative desires. Together we create safe work spaces that honor Black bodies and bolster visibility. Our emphasis on restorative practices recognize and address internal oppression; we seek to heal its effects on the creative discipline of dance making.

We believe that Black dance artists supporting other Black dance artists through mentorship and shared values will help break the generational curse of Black bodies being tokens or limited within seminal dance works/companies/conversations.
